My C.eximium grow for 2014

Recommended Posts

Nigel

I love wild Capsicum, but C.eximium is one of my favorites. For 2014 I wanted to find as many C.eximium as I could and grow them all out.

My hope is to examine the flowers in detail, using a dissecting microscope. It is possible that I may also be able to get some DNA sequencing done, but that is not certain for now.

Here`s the list of what seeds I have so far. They are being sowed today.

CAP 500

CAP 1491

CAP 1530

CGN 19198

CGN 21502

CGN 24332 (not buforum)

C.eximium from the UK (maybe CAP 500 or CGN 21502)

C.eximium (www.semillas.de)

C.eximium from Bolivia (Tarija region)

C.eximium from Bolivia #2 (La Paz region)

The only one I don`t have that is rare, but found among some people in the chile community is CAP503.

C.eximium tomentosum has been redescribed as the new species C.eshbaughii.

There are also 5 eximiums in the USDA database that are unavailable.

I like a growing season focused on a single species.

This will give you a great knowledge on this species that many chilehead grows, but it's still not well known and possibly contains many different varieties ...

I wish to know more on C.eximium, so I'll look with great interest to this topic

.:Dam:.

Beautiful indeed. CAP 500 and 503 would look good on my growing list too. And not just because my list would look a bit more solid, I have 499, 501 and 502. That would be like full house. My apartment is kind a full right now but in future, that would be nice collection to grow :shifty:

I have one plant CAP 470, eximium too. If I get any seeds, I might send some.
