ChilliCrosser 863 Posted November 6, 2021 Just noticed that the biggest F1 plant I have on my #stripeystarfish project has now started to form buds.
ChilliCrosser 863 Posted November 11, 2021 A few ripe pods from my X005 F2 crossing project (Fidalgo Roxa x Giant White Habanero) Plant A - habanero type of flavour, a little floral, not quite as hot as the Giant White Habanero but much hotter than the Fidalgo Roxa. Plant B - great flavours similar to Fidalgo Roxa, some sweetness, a little hotter than the Fidalgo Roxa but only just. Plant B is my personal preference for flavour + heat. ChilliCrosser 863 Posted November 23, 2021 X006 F2 (Fidalgo Roxa x Fijian Bongo) Comparison of very different F2 plants, hoping the small light peach one has seeds to keep it going to F3. It was grown in a small 4", 100mm pot. The red F2 is already a winner, good taste and looks.
ChilliCrosser 863 Posted November 23, 2021 Mystery C.Baccatum dominant cross from my own seeds. Baccatum growth pattern & flowers Protruding shape from the blossom end of pods Colour shading on some pods Pods quite consistent given still unstable Parent plant was red so suspect this is actually an F2 Strong citrus smell when cutting open the pods, thin walled, low heat
ChilliCrosser 863 Posted November 25, 2021 2 from 2 on the germination of my own harvested C.Praetermissum (unknown accession), seeds from one of my grows a few years ago. Bigger plant emerged after 53 days, other plant emerged after 62 days. Finally, after a very long wait, I now have more F0 crossed pods for my #stripeystarfish project. I already have F1s growing for Starfish Yellow x Sugar Rush Stripey and for Starfish Orange x Sugar Rush Stripey. However, these groups of F1s were from seeds taken from a single crossed pod on each colour. That leaves the risk of a mis-cross and also limits the variation I might get from the stripey parent which doesn't seem 100% stable. Harvested 13 F0 pods today from a different yellow mother plant, crossed against a mixture of 4 stripey parents : 1 father reverted to solid red rather than stripey 2 fathers were stripey 1 father still unknown stripey as no fully ripe pods I'll use these extra F0 pods to take a selection of F1 seeds from various parent plant combinations to give me a varied F1 population.

ChilliCrosser 863 Posted December 16, 2021 I moved 1 of my 3 F1s for X034 (Sugar Rush Stripey x Pimenta De Neyde) to a different growing environment recently. The foliage has lightened at the moment as I've kept it further from the lights whilst it acclimatises. The stem colours on this plant are very nice 😍and small buds are starting to develop. ChilliCrosser 863 Posted December 16, 2021 My 2021 and 2022 seasons have merged as I'm growing plants indoors for some of my crosses. This post marks the end of my 2021 log and I'll catchup with everyone else who I see already have their 2022 log active 👏
