Aji Verde means green chile pepper. Like Aji amarillo there are several Aji Verde´s. The one I did grow matured in orange. It reminded me very much of the Aji Amarillo i did grow last year or the Aji Amarillo that Orto Novo grows. I understad that Aji Amarillo sometimes is called Aji verde when used as green in South America.

I just could not wait, so I started to germinate White Rocoto when I got the seeds (July 2008) Maybe a little bit early for the 2009 season.

Today, it was a rainy day, Ida and Hot Pepper Lantern was out on the balcony for some photos. It did not went as good as I hoped. Ida loved to hold the pods, but she hold them so hard that the pods was almost crushed. I had to wash her hand carefully after this meeting...I wonder how it will work when I put the plants on the balcony more permanently.
Harvest after the Ida photos. 35 pods.
Hot Pepper Lantern from green to red;)
Well a couple of days ago winter came to town. So I harvested most of my chile peppes that were still out. The plants in greenhouse are still well with some extra help from a fan and isolation. I also attended Orto Novos chile pepper harvest. Very nice to pick peppers for almost nothing. Most pics or from this event. Last but not least its very nice to read a new book when the season is almost over.

This fun peppers I got from orchid collectors. They had been on a trip in to rain forest in Guyana. Near Mazaroni River, they ran on this chile pepper. They have enjoyed this variety much and cultivated it with success in Stockholm, Sweden. Now I grow it for the first time. I must say that so far it is one of my favorites this year. It bloomed first and has a bushy growth habit and looks nice.
That it is a Capsicum annuum (or closely related), there is no doubt. So far only one flower per nod.
The foliage is healthy and looks set to thrive.
Now I hope that the plant is to be as promising as it has been so far.
The plant is slightly more hairy than normal capsicum annuum.
20/4 2008. A nice day here in Stockholm.
First a picture from the indoor forest.
These three Capsicum chienense should be very similar. From left to right Trinidad Seasoning, Tobago Seasoning and St. Lucia Island. I belive they are mild to medium hot.
The Bulgarian Carrot is well on its way.
An interesting Capsicum baccatum Inca Red Drop
Maybe the most beautiful plant so far, Criolla Sella
The Brown Rocoto is the only Capsicum pubescens vareity that I grow from seed this year (I also have from last year Locoto Pi 387838, Turbo Pube and Cap 1492)
Fenir Capsicum annuum sometimes have heartshaped pods , it is my wife´s favorite
In Sweden this one is called Grekisk Paprika which means Paprika (pepper) from Greece.
Blondie is still not white.
Cap 1492 - I love this pubescens pepper.
Aji Panca - Everyone who tried this one really liked it. Not very hot but tasty.

The Turbo Pube PI 585267 capsicum pubescens has very nice looking pods. It originates from Ecuador.
A comparison of pods, CAP 1492 and Turbo Pube PI 585267. Both bolongs to the capsicum pubescens

Soon time to start repotting.
Some of my friends have trubbel with germination of the White Rocoto. It would be great to hear some more reports from those of you that grow this pepper.
White Rocoto, 2008-02-14
We spent a few days in Barcelona in excellent weather. The food was also excellent with lots of peppers.
The spring was really on its way.
The market was full of nice vegetables
The bell peppers was amazingly large, some of them were well over 0,5 kilos! In Sweden bell peppers have 1/3 of that size. Compare them with the normal size eggplants (eggplants have big pods).
Me and some rosemary bushes in the Park Guell.
Some of the stuff we bought. I was extra glad to find Piqullo de Lodosa, one of those peppers that I have never managed to get hold of.
At last we have some nice spring days with temperatures well over 10 C
It is chaos at home - peppers everywhere, and I just planted the tomatoes... Some of the older plants like the Hot Pepper Lantern are doing very well. I believe the first pod will turn red quite soon. Of the 2009 peppers Purple Jalapeno has the first flower buds. Some peppers are still very small, like the rhomboideum plant. Speaking of capsicum rhomboideum it seems to be much confusion with this plant and its name (also known as capsicum ciliatum)
Hot Pepper Lantern - 3 years old, has never been outside.
Hot Pepper Lantern
Purple Jalapeno (or should it be Jalapeno Purple?)
PI 645680 Capsicum rhomboideum
I wish I had more time to take more photos etc, but my daughter seems to take most of my time and shes is very interested in the pepper plants - so my job nowadays is to keep them away from her, its a hard job
Anyway here are some photos. I hope to do a big update soon.

Aji Colorado, second year that I grow this one from seed (the only one that I grow for a second time this year - I love this one)
The Chinense peppers, most of them. This year I am growing some hot capsicum chinense. In this photo there are two Bhut Jolokia (brown and red) and four 7 pod versions (Red, Yellow, Orange and Brown). There is one that has pods that looks like a Caterpillar, it is called Aribibi Gusano. The one that differs the most is the tallest of them Cajamarca this capsicum chinense have a pubescens like fuzz on the stems. It reminds me a lot of the Misqucho Colorado PI 152225 that I had last year.
It is crowded!
Purple Jalapeno, first pod of the 2009 peppers.
Santa Fe Grande, never grown this common pepper before.
Well the White Rocoto turned out to be a yellow capsicum pubescens. In some angels in seems to be somewhat paler than yellow rocoto. This pod is more than ripe. I did expect it to be more white than this But anyway it was very tasty and it was quite hot.
a comparison White Rocoto and Clavo (c.chinense)

Hi Guys! Today the peppers where outside for a while.
About 20 peppers where outside most of them capsicum chinense, in the middle you can see Rocoto from Vina del Mar. In the front with pointy leafs three pequin/chiltepin.
In this photo In the front Harold St Barts and Carolina Reaper. Behind them with very curly leavs CGN 22092. Close to the wall Flexousum and Yellow Chacoense.
This one is the Goat Pepper from Bahamas.
This dark chinense is called Natal and is somewhat similar to CGN 21500 but my CGN 21500 is not that dark.
The second pepper to set flowers was this CGN 22092. The first one was Pequin from Ischia (you can see the flowers in the two first photoes) which I belive is "from" Italy.
Capsicum Flexousum
This one comes from Myanmar and is called Kalaw. It belongs to the Capsicum Frutescens.
