My Annuums and baccatums germinated very vell this year. But I cant say the same for the chinense. Only about 1/3 of the seeds germinated. So I started to germinate some more seeds of the most wanted.
From 28/1 -31/1 i started to grow more seeds of these:
Trinidad Scorpion (already staring to germinate)
Cherio Recife
Aji Panca (already staring to germinate)
Jalapeno Olé
Shiny red (bad seeds I belive)
Giant White Habanero
This weekend I also started germinate, just for fun, some Hot Lemon seeds from the freezer - does it work? will it work?
On the 3/2 I planted some seeds of the white bacctum Blondie. It will be intressting to follow this one as bacctums with matured white pods seems to be very rare. Is it a realy bacctum? Will it stay white even as matured and overmatured? ...time will tell.

It is still 2007 but the 2008 season (pre-)started today when I put 3 varieties of chile peppers in water to see if this speeds up the germination. The varieties are:
Brown Rocoto (C.pubescens)
Rocoto Cusqueno (C.pubescens)
Rocopica (C.pubescens/C. cardenasii)
My Trinidad Scorpion plant was late to set flowers and and the pods are yet to mature.
Aji Rocatillo. I dont know if this is the same as the Rocotillo (capsicum chinense) that is described in Jean Andrews book "Peppers" as her favorite "eating" pepper.

A not so good picture of the prolific Aji Rocotillo. The taste was typical chinense. Very little heat but noticeable. It will be nice to try this one in sallads.
Today I took my Long chocolate habanero plant inside. It has been outside uptill now. I also brought the Hybrid of Habanero White giant inside. There has not yet been a night of frost. A few plats is still outside. The Rocopica is crazy it sets flowers now outside in these cold temperatures! There are frost warnings later this week.

Every year i only put one or two seeds of each variety in the soil. I do this because I cant choose what to grow. I leave it up to the seeds .
