Looks to me like a hormonal disorder, most probably due to a fungal infection that affects the plant in this way instead of showing other (more classical) symptoms. This can show up in case the plant is partially resistant or if the seeds were already infected with a fungus. Or it may be a hormonal disorder just from a genetical origin, which is more rarely the case. In this condition it will unlikely produce any pods - and if, they will be very small, deformed or crippled. I am reasoning this way, because I had a quite similar case on a plant, which was a bird eye and seemed to resist a general fungal attack of my plants, but only showed this strange branching habit and miss-formed leaves as well. A later diagnosis from a specialist then was as explained above... and it sounds plausible to me. Have you had any problems with fungus lately? If yes, it is even more probable - if not at all, the hormonal disorder would most probably have a different origin.

Lonewolf 18,106 Posted September 28, 2008 Have you had any problems with fungus lately? The strange thing is that the plant looks healthy, excluding the fact it doesn't grow and produce any blossom, it has no problem at all.
Luca dalla Tailandia 2 Posted September 30, 2008 Well I still opt for the hormonal disorder, which can either be caused (if not due to a fungal infection) genetically, some other decease or even due to bad nutrition, even through extreme PH (excessive rainfalls for instance)... PS 1: there is even a (rather seldom) possibility: the fungal infection is directly caused through infected seeds and isn't contagious. But in this case all plants from that pod should show this behavior and be in this condition. PS2: I'm sorry to say that (no offense), it actually does not look completely "healthy"... Lonewolf 18,106 Posted September 30, 2008 The plant had its strange behaviour (that is a lot of leaves in a tiny stem) already when it was still in the light-room, in March/April. It was repotted with the same mould than other plants and received the same water amount, fertilizer amount and other treatments. I grew a single plant from those seeds, but I've still seeds to try some experiment next year, to verify if the problem is in the seeds. That's true, it's not so healthy ... otherwise it would have flowers and pods I meant it has no problem so heavy to die, lost leaves or other ... remember it's behaviour today is due to my pruning of almost all leaves.
