We hope in better weather ... SOON!

(but here in Verona lower temperatures never were below 10-11° and my plants are still protected against rain)

AlexH, if you'll use products with metaldeyde pay attention at his toxicity. It's very dangerous for dogs and cats. So if you have these animals use it, but with very attention!! :D

Today the first "Purple Chupegascar" flower opened... it's really pretty, a small white flower with purple edges to the petals and purplish anthers!

...tomorrow I'll try to post a photo...

OK... so here are the pictures

Here is the "Purple Chupe" ...you can see that with the cold weather it has developed a lot of very small leaves, hopefully these will grow now that it starts to warm up again, but as you can also see there are lots of buds!

...and here is a "close up" of the first flower! (I haven't seen any other flowers like this, with the "variagated" colours.... do you think it's unusual??)

And some other good news is that the first pod is ripening! (The Hungarian Hot Wax) ...the plant hasn't produced any other flowers, (so it looks quite strange!) but I hope when I pick this pod it will become productive again! :)

Wow Alex! Congratulations!

The Purple Chupe presents a typical "Madagascar-shape" for leaves and flowers, but the PORTAMENTO is sure Chupe-hybirdate (i hope you'll understand what i mean eheheh).

And now, Purple Chupe fruits, please! post-299-1274036335.gif post-299-1274036335.gif post-299-1274036335.gif

Thanks all.

This week I will try to isolate some of the Purple chupe flowers so we can have some pure seeds for 2011!

Finally some decent weather!!! ;)

The first purple chupe flower has wilted, hopefully it means the pollenation has been successful and the first pod is on it's way!

...also there are some nice Cajamarca pods forming, as well as some Chocolate Habanero and various Annuum and Fructescens.

I even think that the first pod (the Hot Wax) will be ripe enough to harvest this weekend... the first fresh pepper of the season! (I hope it's good...! ;) )

Luckily it's nice weather!

The plants will benefit for sure, unfortunately, early June is still unstable!
