Flower and pod shape (expecially calix) say it's a C.Annuum.

I received some seeds of it just today , labelled as Naga Jolokia Purple; I'll grow next year ...

The Naga Jolokia (purple or red) is a Cayenna-like variety, similar to many other commonly grown and used in India and East-Asia.

Its fame is mainly due to the fact in the years 2001-2005 it was supposed to be the fabled "C.Frutescens var. Nagahari" which rated 855,000 shu in tests by some Indian laboratories.

Now we know it was a fake!

The fact that seeds of this variety (red) were sold everywhere as a super-hot was (in my opinion) the main cause to the aste of time needed to be sure of the existence of "true" super-hot.
