Capsicum baccatum L var. baccatum

Fragilis

This plant is a brassinolide sensitive mutation of Capsicum baccatum L var. baccatum discovered by legendary grower Chris Fowler of Cardiff,Wales. Originally the seeds were distributed as Capsicum parvifolium Sendtn. which was incorrect. Chris named this plant "Fragilis" because of it's very sensitive habit;sometimes the leaves fall from the wind alone.

The seeds of this plant are straw colored and the germination is difficult like other wild species. The plant habit is very compact and very slow to grow. Berries grow multiple per node and ripen to a dark orange color. This plant is still rare in our gardening circles and needs to be grown by more gardeners to achieve more accurate data.
