It is brand new and a few seasons until the base is where I would like it to be. Going for a simple wind swept look. The passed week or so, there has been an elderly woman, visiting some of the plants I found, harvesting the fresh berries to make salsa. Nothing beats the old school, local knowledge. No matter how many folks you talk to, there is always that one lady you "could've talked to" that knew exactly where they are and when they ripen. Ha! Glad you got things ironed out now though! I actually decided on Samaipata and mid December based on a few reasons. I chose Samaipataafter reading two documents. The first document being W.H. Eshbaughii's reports and the second document being @Lonewolf's Bolivia reports from the past. I noticed that the documents mention most towns along hwy 7 at the south end of Amboro, but yet, no one was mentioningSamaipata or Eshbaughii finds..so I chose this as base camp to find C Eshbaughii. I chose December due to reports indicating this was the best window for themost flower and fruit for identification across all species in the area. Just a few weeks too soon for ripe C. Eshbaughii fruit unfortunately. I am very happy with it being my first wild capsicum find and the photos I was able to publish. Iwould've been completely satisfied with just that, but the capsicum gods were kind I also found two different C Bac var Bac and 12 other wonderful domesticated Bolivian cultivars. All in all, the trip was a life changer. I'm slowly working on the Bolivia trip report video when I have time, but for now here is a quick addition to my Experiments in Hybridizing series.
