Crops of 2020

Recommended Posts

Eric Knight

My first fruit to mature in 2020

This is my first rare fruit opened up this great year of 2020.

50% C. frutescens 'Cabai Burung Ungu'

25% C. baccatum 'Sugar Rush Peach'

25% C. annuum 'Variegata'

The goal... I am hoping by seasons end to get two generations in and get some variegated fruit with some super sweet heat to them and preferably some purple, pink, and green flowers... time will tell.

Thanks my friend, I bleached the seed for a few minutes, soaked in peroxide, and now I've had the seed soaking in growth hormone just to give it a little kick. Probably overkill, but you can't ever go back in time to change things.IMG_4971.jpeg.86912b438899ce1a4c6761f58928f850.jpeg

This lovely money shot will soon be planted. As you can see, the conception has been documented and the flower marked. The fruit is almost ready to be harvested so we can plant our BC1 seeds. In this case, the cross is (C. annuum 'Variegata' x C. baccatum 'Sugar Rush Peach') x C. baccatum 'Sugar Rush Peach'

Capsicum annuum 'Flourescent' x C. annuum 'Anaheim' heterozygous for variegation which means we will have variegated seedlings by the years end if everything goes as planned.

It is a military challenge coin. This one was from 3rd ID Fort Stewart. Georgia.

The seed you see below was opened today. As you can see, I often make the same cross many times to chase down those few precious jewels that may prove worthwhile.
