First day in Bolivia. First wild find. Walked a small dirt road, up the mountain out of Samaipata. Four plants between 1-2 meters tall. 10+ Calyx Teeth with 13 being the most I counted. A very hairy lady indeed :)

Great!

Dense pubescence of pedicels and calyx, 10 toothed-calyx...absolute stunning.

Definitely NOT C.eximium.

Have you already checked the pungency of the berries?
They should be spicy.

None of this would have been possible without the work you put in on your previous Bolivia trip and the fabulous documentation that goes on here on pepper friends. I only recently fell in love with wilds and reading your reports over the last few months have been incredible. Now hurry up so I can show you where these 4 beautiful girls are!!! The best one has a schizophrenic living very close by and was not sure about me and all my flash bulbs! hahahaha It was safe but weird. I showed him my photos but he didn't trust me and wrote down my license plate. Then someone that had stopped to watch me take photos, came to me and told me he is schizophrenic, but safe. Not to worry about him. Wild times!

Second wild of the trip. Half of the plant was standing and half was laying on the ground in the road. Tiny chacoense sized baccatum flowers, no pubescence, tiny red fruit.

I've done every major hike in the area, choosing different microclimates/geography/altitudes for each one. I have hiked over 40 miles this week and not once did I find a "wild" in... the wild...plenty of solanum, just no capsicum.

Every time I've found capsicum, its been on the side of the road near a small village and farm land. Makes me rethink the term "wild capsicum"

Video Incoming...waiting for slow upload speeds of Boliva

Third wild find of my Bolivia trip. Was invited by a new friend to walk his property and look around. This one was growing out from a rock wall garden. Apparently the gardener had found it growing there and let it live.

True wild Capsicum are there, miles away from farms and villages.

I cannot (and don't like) to report description and photos during the trip, no time to do it as I wish, but I'll write a full report after coming back to Italy

Guess I was looking in the wrong places, miles away from people. Im sure they are there. Just not where I hiked. Either that, or the pepper gods decided finding Eshbaughii day one was enough ;)

I believe you. I don’t have the luxury of knowing locations and coordinates like some people do. So, I had to go on foot and search my self. Blind. If being blind leads me to Eshbaughii, I’ll take it :)

In italy we say (in latin) Audentes fortuna iuvat  or... if you prefer in Italian (not exactly literal translation).... "La fortuna aiuta gli audaci" :)

Indeed it does! I’m very thankful to be so lucky! Those without prior knowledge and tip offs have to rely on will and luck! I’ll take it, however it comes :)
