Toolshed 4,341 Posted September 7, 2017 nice! hope to see a cabaca roxa pic when they're full ripen. what lemon spice and multi-color jalapenos taste like? I mean, very similar to a "standard" jalapeno?
cmpman1974 503 Posted September 14, 2017 Ask and you shall receive a Cabaca Roxa picture. Regarding those NuMex jalapeno strains, I really like them a lot. They have superb flavor and are beautiful on top of that. They have good pungency for a jalapeno as well. I was impressed and found NuMex Orange Spice to be the best producer here. Toolshed 4,341 Posted September 14, 2017 thanks a lot Chris! where did you get those lemon spice jalapeno seeds? as regards big yellow mama, i notice relevant variations in the shape of fruit, right?
Vincer 4,759 Posted September 14, 2017 HI chris...great peppers!!! I like them very much. An OT question : which kind of font you use for the titles in the pictures? Ciao Vincenzo
cmpman1974 503 Posted September 14, 2017 Yes, Big Yellow Mama seems to have many pod shapes, but a consistent color and texture across the plants. As with all these super hot crosses, they show variability. Those NuMex jalapenos are sold by The Chili Pepper Institute in New Mexico, USA. They developed the three strains and stabilized them. I believe they were released in 2016.
