Hi,friends.
Is this pepper lovely in the picture 1 ?Anyway, I like it.
I asked the friend in the Forum for the seeds, but unfortunately, she mixed two kinds of pepper[pic1,pic2]. Beacuse she think it's the same species, just one plant had changed. May be a kind of evolution.
I think this is a change beacuse of the hybridization. It's a new one. So she gave me about 70 seeds in order to find the new kinds if it still exist.

There's a worse news. she also planted other 2 kinds of pepper. I don't know that can I plant the pepper in the pictuer 1 .

Friends, what do you think ?

Other 2 kinds .

First and Fourth Pictures are very interesting and "particular" varieties.

I've never seen something like that :).

If you have lots of seeds of variety in picture 1 and 2 you can try to replicate and select the plants with that pod shape in picture 1 (but you have to grow as many plants you can.... to increase the probability to obtain something like what showed in picture 1).
Consider that stabilization of hybrid peppers needs lots of generations (so, you have to cultivate, obtain pure seeds, select the plant with the feature you like and make the full cycle of cultivaton for 5, 6 ore more generations, until the genetic characters are stable).

Picture n. 3 shows an Ornamental Variety of Capsicum annuum ... there are many similar varieties. That's nice in any case.

Do you have any additinal information about the variety pictured in 4th ?

What is the size of pods ? are they hot or sweet ?

Do you know if that variety has a name ?

Very particular shape in any case

Geez

I think, pictures 1 and 2 show identical varieties. But on the first plant there were some changes (not hybridization). I don't know the motives of such changes. Is it genetic changes or result of effect of external factors... Sometimes inside of the fruit are formed one or many of small underdeveloped fruits. Sometimes these small fruits are formed outside of a fruit (for example, link). Also on one plant can be combined types (normal and particular) of fruits. And I don't know, this particular feature is passed by seeds or not. Li Ning, you have an excellent chance for check the facts in practice. bigwink.gif

Hi

The pepper in the picture 4 is called 'pumpkin pepper' in the Forum in the China. Beacuse it looks like a mini pumpkin. It's hot,and its pods have 3~4 cm. I planted it 2 years ago. There are some people share its seed for free in the Forum in China. We just pay for the postage. Its characteristics is stable. It's common species in China.

These are the pictures in the Forum.

Nice ...

But, please, open a single topic for your growing season and add messages/updates to it.

We've too many new topics on the forum; the rule is: one growing season, ONE topic :)

I grouped together your messages in this topic

Black Pearl is probably the best ornamental variety with dark leaves among the peppers I know.

Hi Li and welcome back.

Are you aware of the existence of a rare cultivar called Shabu Shabu (C.chinense), a variety of Naga Morich which is differentiated from the original strain in western China.

Unfortunately, finding a reliable source of seeds is very difficult and order from China through e-commerce is almost certain to be shipped by common C.annuum seeds;)

You'd be in great to get you a few seeds, possibly isolated from cross-pollination?

I've send you PM with a link to a site with a more complete description of the variety and some pics.

Kind regards
Daniele

Hi,

I think it's a common pepper. I used to have, but not too much love, so no seed. I noticed that many friends were very interested in the kind in the forum, so I asked other friends (China) to have some seeds.

Ok,

I found out on aliexpress the availability of the seeds. Even the reliability comes to be debatable it is worth a try. Have a look here -> link
