hi Chris,
I have a question about the pepper called Purple Haze: is it a your own creation or it's possible to find it in usual seeds network?
I tried to look at for it but I didn't find anything.
Can you tell me something about it? smell... taste... capsaicin force...
ah... very fantastic the idea to close the pepper with Purple Haze of the big Jimi!!

Hi, I was sent seeds of this variety from a friend in Australia. That was the first time I heard of it. I have not yet tasted (first time growing) so I can't offer any feedback on that yet. I'll let you know once I do and provide an update.

It appears CGN 20497 is not a true cardenasii given the flower. It seems to resemble Rocopica more so it has been re-named.

Original CGN 20497 is really C.cardenasii, but it easily cross with C.eximium, Rocopica and perhaps C.pubescens, so it's difficult to produce pure seeds, also because the specie is considered to be self-incompatible.

I've a plant of CGN 20497 3-4 years old which seems a true Cardenasii, I'm trying to produce seeds by self-pollination, despite in literature this is reported as not possible (who knows?)

My special cross I've worked on for a few years now. :) A super hot too!! It is not a Bhut x Neyde. Pods are much bigger and in my opinion better attributes.

I'm finally seeing some ripe peppers although the season has been slow due to unusually cold weather here. I'm hoping for some warm weeks in the next month. :) A few pepper photos to share.

For the person who asked about Purple Haze. It actually is a nice tasting annuum with a medium heat level. I was surprised as I thought it may not have good flavor based on its 'ornamental' appearance. It's a beautiful plant. :)

Purtroppo le foto, linkate da sito esterno, non sono visibili.

Ma mi auguro ugualmente che questo up nella coltivazione dello scorso anno di Chris possa contribuire a ricordare a tutti quanto Chris sia uno di noi...
