Tubocapsicum - almost Capsicum

Does anyone have information about growing Tubocapsicum species, T.anomalum and T.obtusum?

 

Is anyone growing either species? Have photos? I`d like to grow them, but seeds are a little tricky to find

The correct name of the genus is "Tubocapsicum" (without "r")

 

Seeds are available at USDA genebank (PI 501532).

 

European growers cannot receive seeds from USDA, because the genebank does not provide some certificates necessary for import of seeds in Europe.

However, US growers should be able to obtain seeds, but request must be sent in a proper way.

Presenting themselves as hobbyist doesn't work, while presenting themselves as a member of the Association can help.

Thanks Claudio. My phone did an autocorrect and added the "r".

 

I`d love to see your article. I`ve heard that the USDA is difficult to get seeds from, so I have not tried. Perhaps I will see what is involved and give it a shot.
